This is the first task we were asked to do, we were told to write a list of things of which we want to improve in our drawings, i chose to do a list of mostly smaller things as this is more of a realistic goal to set and to achieve. One of my most important goals on the list is to improve on my architectural drawing, this is something i desperately need to work on as i never do any drawings of buildings or architecture and i feel this skill is definitely worth possessing. Through the progression of this module i hope to be able to draw architecture decently with a good level of enthusiasm.
Most of my other improvements on the list are smaller things, like improvement on the hands, feet and ears. these may not be big but they are very important. when it comes to my characters i generally leave the ears, hands and feet very basic and minimalist, whereas the other features are not. this is due to the fact i cant really draw them in a style. i need to improve on taking what i know about drawing feet and hands (which i consider to be a decent amount based on the hands and feet drawings in did last year in my drawing module) and adapt that even further and apply it to my children's book illustration work.
Last but not least i need to improve on my backgrounds. This goal is my most important one by far, as i am good at character designs and character based drawing, but when it comes to backgrounds i am lacking in that area. i feel the best thing to help me for this will be multiple things. having a better knowledge of perspective and applying it to backgrounds and scenes, is a good place to start. by having perspective you instantly create depth in your work, and i feel my backgrounds end up looking quite flat and lifeless. this is something i desperately need to and want to improve on. and through this module i hope to see a change in my backgrounds by the end.
